A Voice for All
Join Leniqua'dominique Jenkins and her campaign for DC City Council At-Large
I am a proud daughter, aunt, social entrepreneur, successful children’s book author, and a fierce believer that every ward has a distinct voice that should be heard. As a Neighborhood Advisory Commissioner, I worked to redefine what is possible through activism and people-centered leadership across our neighborhoods. Now I am running for City Council At-Large to ensure DC is a healthy, safe, and just city for all who call it home.
Vision for DC
My vision for Washington DC is a city that is safe and has a government that works the same for all people, independent of their proximity to resources or power. It’s impossible for me to think of any feature in the city without centering people, particularly in areas of economic stress. When I reflect on my lived experience I am reminded of the daily challenges faced by my five nieces and nephews that are navigating the DC public education system. When I process thoughts of public safety I think of my community that has neglected infrastructure, cracked sidewalks, and nonexistent bike lanes. I am running for the At-Large city council seat because everyone deserves safety, dog parks, clean air, smooth sidewalks, a quality education, and equity independent of their zip code.
